He has experience working in a variety of settings including substance abuse clinics, acute inpatient psychiatric hospitals and outpatient counseling, and has experience in individual, couples, and group therapy. He has worked with a diverse population of clients from adolescents to geriatrics and has experience treating disorders ranging from depression and anxiety to bipolar disorder, personality disorders, gender/LGBTQ issues, ADHD, and grief.

Dr. Pagán has considerable experience in the provision of psychotherapeutic services across the developmental spectrum. His approach to treatment falls within the CBT and DBT traditions, two evidence-based approaches to psychotherapy. CBT focuses on identifying, addressing and changing maladaptive thought processes and behaviors. DBT was developed as an extension of CBT with a stronger focus on acceptance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal relationships. These approaches are psychoeducational, action-oriented, and problem-focused.
Dr. Pagán is down-to-earth in his interactions with his clients – just as he is in his personal life. He provides services to Spanish-speaking populations as well.
